Jack Spade, Bloggers, and Spiked Cider Unite

Jon Gaffney of Lacking Self Preservation and Andrew Ray of One Man's Style were cool enough to help me throw a little holiday shin-dig the other night at Jack Spade on Newbury Street, aka, my second home.
We Jon and Andy pulled their resources together and got a really solid group in the shop.

We invited some of Boston's coolest bloggers in to check out all of Jack's sweet holiday collection while downing spiked cider and donuts

Some awesome people showed up alongside Jon and Andy, including Christine of N'East Style, Billy from Boylston Trading Co, Charlotte of The Wilder Things, and Marissa of Someduck. Just to name a few.
Dan Ferraro captured the evenings happenings. Peep it all below.

Thanks to all that showed up. We had a great time. And thanks again Jon and Andy. Let's spike some more cider soon.

I'll end with this pic of me and some of the Jack crew...

Cheers.

I made these little guys after perusing Nylon's December issue. I ripped out a page here and a page there...and then I had me some content.

I hope you like looking at them! Sorry if you don't.

Cheers dears.

Irina Lazareanu is hands down one of my favorite models. She's got a rockstar sex appeal coupled with ballerina grace (she used to dance). Her personal style is quirky with a men's inspired flair. Love. Just love.
So anywho, the ladies gracing the top of this blog are in fact inspired by a spread she did in Marie Claire. Tell me you remember this

Well, I was attracted to some images of her actually moving her lithe frame in a graceful way while wearing some beautiful clothes. I started the drawings with vine charcoal and then blew the pigments in the direction of her body. I even used a hair-dryer to blow ink in a similar fashion. Needless to say, they were fun to make. I hope you enjoy them.

Cheers lovely dears.

Mint Rigging: What I'll Wear This Weekend

That's right, I verbed "rig" for fashion's sake (not to be confused with that sailing apparatus) and to me, rigging is simply the act of styling. Or putting an outfit together. Or just donning a bunch of sweet looking threads together. Either way, I love a solid outfit rig and I try not to think about my own too carefully, but sometimes, I come across a solid piece that will drum up the amateur stylist in me and make me play with ways I can wear it.

One such piece is this man repelling pair of denim from Allsaints.

Perfect boy fit. Perfect drop crotch. Perfect wax coating. Perfectly weird and interesting.

These are cool enough that the rest of the look can be classic and clean. I guess you could go the whole girly-meets-edgy-meets-masculine route, but I prefer the androgyny-collide-with-classic look. If that makes any sense.

Anyway, I plan on wearing these bad boys with a few items that I wear on the daily. Like a classic men's button down, a beaded belt and a pair of oxfords.

Shirt: Jack Spade, Belt: Maasai Vintage Beaded Belt, Shoes: Stuart Weitzman

Add a men's inspired watch, and maybe a bangle or two, and we're good to go. I may even toss on a jumper or cardigan for good cold-weather measure.

So tell me, what the heck will you be donning this weekend post Tofurkey coma?

It's Crazy Warm

It's unseasonably warm here in the Bean. Some loves and I spent this past Sunday out enjoying the mild temps while they're still kicking around.

You know what I say to these Fall like temps?

Rig Deets: madewell jacket, Selima for Jack Spade sunnies, Zara sweater and Kate Spade bag.

Say, whattup to prolonged autumnal rigging, says I.

And here's a little snap of yours truly that my good friend Dan snagged while we were karate-ing in the leaves.

Cheers!

Drawings: Check Shirt Update

Remember that rad outfit I was in love with via The Sartorialist (you should. it's only right below...)?

Well, it had me thinking about it for days, so I decided to source it as a little imagery for some new drawings. Take a looky-lou below.

Rig Inspiration

I am constantly checking street style sites to source inspiration for paintings, life, drawings, photos, my own rigs etc. and Scott Schuman never disappoints in catching some of the best looks walking among us.

Via The Sartorialist

This one in particular has caught my attention. What a lovely mix of 90's grunge, high fashion, menswear and girly. In my opinion, this girl nailed it. The silhouette is beautiful as is the layering. I don't even need to see the rest of her.

This one will stick with me for a while. I think I've found some new ways to wear my mens button downs.
And to paint them.

Cheers.
